[Queens NY] – Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College proudly presents the enchanting Grammy-nominated jazz harpist, Brandee Younger, in a mesmerizing live performance on Saturday, November 11 at 8 PM at LeFrak Concert Hall.

Jazz harp sensation, Brandee Younger is a rare talent who effortlessly bridges the worlds of classical tradition and contemporary innovation. With a background deeply rooted in classical harp, Younger brings her unique improvisational skills and a profound love for hip hop into the mix. Her journey has been shaped by an unwavering respect for the trailblazing jazz harpists who have paved the way for her.

This captivating evening will highlight Younger's latest masterpiece, "Brand New Life," which serves as an homage to the legendary harpist and composer Dorothy Ashby. The album features tracks from Ashby's iconic albums, as well as previously unrecorded compositions, reimagining timeless classics with a contemporary twist. 

Younger's profound artistry has earned her a Grammy nomination, making her the first Black female solo artist to be nominated in the Best Instrumental Composition category. Her collaborations with music icons such as Beyoncé, John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Pharoah Sanders, and Ravi Coltrane underscore her ability to seamlessly incorporate the harp into genres and venues where it has historically been underrepresented.
