Your Excellencies,

Esteemed Citizens of New York,

Distinguished Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good afternoon it's an honor for me, first of all to introduce Gloria Stars Kin which is the dean of un and some friends who from Japan to be here tonight with us.

Please join me in a minute of silence for the innocent victims of war.

I am Jude Elie from Haiti, and I am both honored and delighted to address you at this important gathering for world peace. The community of Haitians in America and in our homeland have asked me to convey our deepest gratitude for your efforts.

Today, I stand here not just to advocate for global peace but to also ignite change in my own country, Haiti, which is in turmoil. My heart aches as it feels as though the world seems has turned a blind eye to Haiti's suffering.

Haiti's fame isn't rooted in its poverty but rather in its history. In 1804, Haiti was the first black nation to break the shackles of slavery and sent ripples of liberation across the globe. But what has transpired since? Why are we now one of the world's most contentious and troubled nations? Why are we scraping the bottom of the barrel?

Haiti is in dire need of unity, inspiration, and transformative action that engenders enduring peace. Sustainable and equitable development across the globe cannot be achieved without genuine peace.

To the world, I say, enough is enough. Now is the time for action. Action to eradicate violence, action to eliminate disparity and injustice in all its forms, action to unite our strengths for peace. War is not the answer. We do not desire war; we yearn for peace.

Let me reaffirm, loudly and clearly: We do not want war; we yearn for lasting peace. We want peace in Haiti, an end to conflict, and peace throughout the world. Peace and prosperity for all people can be realized through the guarantee of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, freedom from environmental degradation, and freedom from fear.

To my fellow Haitians, I, Jude Elie, believe with every fiber of my being that together, we can ensure Haiti's safety and strength with the support of our steadfast friends.

Together, we are stronger. We are one in the pursuit of love and peace.

I thank you.
